Las radios indígenas y comunitarias cumplen una importante función de apoyo y voz de sus comunidades. Atienden a la población más desprotegida y vulnerable del país, pueblos originarios, campesinos y población migrante de sus regiones. Estas radios resguardan la memoria sonora de muchas comunidades. En sus acervos se encuentran grabaciones de campo realizadas en localidades de su cobertura; música indígena, tradicional o de las regiones y popular; música para niños, noticiarios y entrevistas sobre su cultura y problemas sociales principalmente. Su situación es precaria en la mayoría de los casos, necesitan recursos económicos y humanos para poder conservar, preservar y difundir el patrimonio que resguardan, así como de tecnología para digitalizar y resguardar lo digitalizado. Sin embargo, algunas de estas radios están en la búsqueda de alternativas para proteger y preservar sus acervos, entre otras cosas, para volver a transmitirlos, recuperando con ello la memoria sonora de las comunidades de su cobertura. En este panel escucharemos de viva voz la experiencia de las dos radiodifusoras comunitarias más antiguas en México y de una radio indígena del Sistema de Radiodifusoras Culturales del Instituto Nacional de Pueblos Indígenas. ----- Preservation of sound archives in indigenous and community radio stations Indigenous and community radio stations play an important role in supporting and giving voice to their communities. They serve the most unprotected and vulnerable population of the country, native peoples, peasants and migrant population of their regions. These radios safeguard the sound memory of many communities.
